A Life Cycle



In this project, we were given the restriction of working with "layers". My interpretation of this parameter lies within the multiple (and in this case, 205) frames of the time lapse video. I took inspiration for this from the charcoal drawings and animations of William Kentridge, and through this exploration, I have gained a significantly increased respect for the complexity and difficulty of his work.

The video is a stylized version of the life and death of a tree, with the ground and sky both eventually becoming completely clouded in black, to represent the pollution killing off the environment.
