Final color study project. Painting with acrylic on a 3' x 4' canvas. I based my color study project off of Van Gogh's Cafe at Night.

Construction Lines that Compliment to Create Planes

After I drew the widgets, scanned them, painted them with watercolor, and scanned them again, I now had several images that could be collaged in photoshop.  I used the verb, "to compliment," to arrange the widgets in this composition.  The construction lines of the drawing and the geometry of the diffeerent widgets each compliment each other.  The colors, being complimentary, also compliment each other.

Here are some of the drawings I created of the widgets.  I left several construction lines.  I also decided to go in and add watercolor to the drawings and scanned them.  I chose blue and orange because they're complimentary.
